The 7-part docuseries following the children of Dwyane Wade, Evander Holyfield, and Randall Cunningham is now available.
I’m incredibly proud that VICTORYROAD+ has now fully acquired Legacy: In the Shadow of Greatness - a project that became a deeply personal part of my journey as a filmmaker and executive producer.

We began filming in 2019, following Zaire Wade, Evan Holyfield, and Vashti Cunningham - the children of sports icons Dwyane Wade, Evander Holyfield, and Randall Cunningham - as they worked to make their own marks in sports and in life.
Then the world changed.
When COVID hit, we had already filmed more than 30 days, and our planned 70+ day shoot was suddenly in doubt. We had no ending, no roadmap, and like so many stories during that time, the future became uncertain overnight. But I believed we had to keep going. I recommended to our partners that we pause production, document the moment through vlogs, and then resume filming once the world began to open back up - safely, of course - because what was unfolding had become about much more than sports. They agreed, and the series became stronger because of it.

Over the next three years, Legacy evolved into something much bigger: a portrait of struggle, uncertainty, and resilience during one of the most disruptive periods in modern history.
In my opinion, it’s one of the most honest documentary series about the COVID era - especially when it comes to the impact it had on teenagers trying to figure out who they were, what came next, and how to keep moving forward when the world hit pause.
Then add another layer: the pressure of being the son or daughter of one of the most iconic athletes in sports while trying to build an identity and legacy of your own in the social media era.
That’s what makes this series so meaningful.

This is exactly the kind of premium, story-first content we want to keep building and championing at VICTORYROAD+ - bold, personal, and built to last. We’re also proud to have expanded the series from 6 episodes to 7, giving this journey the ending it deserves.
Watch Legacy now, only on VICTORYROAD+.
